Review:

Dylan sent me his EP, The Trinity EP for review, and I must state that I am incredibly sad that there is but 3 songs to this release. Honestly, this EP has me literally begging for more. I imagine anyone who listens will want more Dylan Lloyd.

This is musical nirvana. To find a flaw in this is to say the Mona Lisa should be smiling more. In other words, this EP is virtually, and aesthetically, perfect. Music - perfect. Lyrics - perfect. Arrangements - perfect. Production - perfect.

Perhaps releasing an EP of but three songs allows one to absolutely perfect an effort - however I have heard other songs by Dylan on SonicJive and they are all just as good. Produced by Grammy nominated Gary Loizzo (Styx, Dennis De Young, Survivor, REO Speedwagon, American Breed) Dylan Lloyd is a man with a plan and with the talent to launch into the stratosphere.

With mainly his voice and his piano, Lloyd holds your ears hostage for the course of all three songs. Don't worry, after the opening 10 seconds of 'The Ride', you begin to get the feeling that Dylan is more talented and possesses more passion than Michael McDonald, and being the only comparison I can make, I must point out how unfortunate that is. For Michael McDonald. . . . and with good cause.

The first single from the album 'All I Wanna Do' is a mesmerizing piece that would make even a tornado stop it's destruction and just dance to its rich and delicious melody. A great combination of Lloyd's vocals, stunning piano work and an accompanying jazzy guitar and percussion. 'The Ride' is my favorite song and 'Visible' is great as well. In fact picking a favorite may be akin to having to decide which of your children is your favorite, It simply cannot be done.

It would be a shame for anyone to have an opportunity to listen to disregard this, as it is musically the best 13 minutes by one artist that I have ever reviewed.. To quote one of my favorite movies "Garden State" . . . "listening to this will change your life."

About Dylan Lloyd:

Dylan Lloyd's music career officially began at the age of 15; he was the lead vocalist and piano player of a very popular local band on the south side of Chicago known as PANGEA from the year 2002 to 2005. One of their last and most notable performances was at the Rave in Milwaukee, Wisconsin opening up for critically acclaimed band MEDESKI, MARTIN, AND WOOD in November of 2004.

By early spring of 2005, Pangea had disbanded; from that point on Dylan Lloyd has been pursuing a solo music career in Chicago, and Los Angeles, at an incredibly successful pace.

In the fall of 2007, Dylan Lloyd had a brief departure from being a solo artist to join a band called LOOSE CHANGE. They ended up recording the early incarnation of Dylan Lloyd's three song EP titled "THE TRINITY" with Grammy award nominee and producer of STYX Gary Loizzo; the most notable songs from this album were "ALL I WANNA DO" and "THE RIDE". The third song entitled "VISIBLE" was never officially released.

Various media outlets in Chicago have been supporting Dylan Lloyd ever since his EP "THE TRINITY" was released on iTunes in January of 2009. NBC 5: CHICAGO, the RED EYE newspaper, FEEDBACK MAGAZINE, and other media outlets have all featured Lloyd and given his music critical acclaim.

Lloyd has also made numerous radio appearances since becoming a solo artist. "THE RIDE" has been on nationally acclaimed Chicago radio station 93.1FM WXRT, as well as other songs of his that have been on Chicago area radio stations and online radio stations. "ALL I WANNA DO" was headlined and promoted by WINDY CITY RECORDS (an independent Chicago record label) on one of their seasonal compilation albums in 2009.

The future for Dylan Lloyd in the music industry shows extreme promise and longevity. In December of 2009, Dylan Lloyd signed a music publishing deal with "RADAR MUSIC, LLC/BUG MUSIC, INC.". From that point forward, Dylan has been establishing himself in Los Angeles, as well as Chicago, as one of the most outstanding singer/songwriters of his generation. He has written and co-produced with many well established producers such as mulit-platinum producer MdL (JUSTIN BIEBER, CHRIS BROWN, STEPHEN JERZAK), Kevin Savigar (ROD STEWART, JOSH GRACIN), Deron Johnson (MILES DAVIS, SEAL), gold producer Michael Jay (EMINEM, MARTIKA), Tim Fagan (COLBIE CAILLAT, JASON MRAZ), platinum producer Soundtrakk (LUPE FIASCO) and many more. He has been interviewed by two major Southern California magazines called the "MUSIC CONNECTION" and the "L.A. EXAMINER" about getting signed to a music publishing deal. Lloyd is swiftly making his way up the ranks as one of the best and most respected singer/songwriters in the music business; look out for his second highly anticipated album in the summer/fall of 2011.

"Music is life that lives forever. If the only thing that I can do in this world is take one person out of a daily cycle of misery, heartache, anxiety, frustration, and any other drama that goes along with our life...for just a few minutes...then I truly will feel like I am doing the best that I possibly can to help bring joy to people's lives." - Dylan Lloyd
